Residenze Gregoriane

The city of Tivoli is our only Excursion outside the Le Marche (pronounced lay markay) region of Italy. It’s only about 40 minutes from the Rome Airport which gives our guests a day to relax and get acclimated to European time before embarking on the approximate three hour trip to our home base in San Benedetto del Tronto.

Residenze Gregoriane is an extraordinary hotel in the heart of Tivoli with a very particular history. One of the main sites in Tivoli is Villa d’Este which was constructed by Cardinal d’Este who was in line to become Pope. He never achieved his goal. In addition to his magnificent villa he purchased and renovated the villa where Residenze Gregoriane occupies today. He purchased it for his mistress and I assure you he spared no expense.
