Walk along paths next to a mountain stream that leads to the breathtaking Cascata della Prata waterfall—a two mile trek with a 2000 foot climb offering mesmerizing views and spots to take a breather. Wrap up your escapade with a lunch at an Agriturismo eatery in Umito relishing authentic Italian dishes crafted from fresh locally sourced ingredients. This trip combines natures beauty, historic trails and culinary pleasures for an escapade, in the heart of Italy.

Scenic drive from the Seaside at San Benedetto into the Monti della Laga region in the Apennine Mountain chain. The drive will take approximately one hour as we go through the steeper winding roads to the town of Umito where our hike begins.

We’ll be following the old mule trails along a mountain stream that connected the villages for thousands of years. There are many scenic view points and rest stops along the way. The hike to the Cascata (waterfalls) is about two miles with an ascent of approximately 2000Ft.
We’ll finish the hike where we started and have lunch at an Agriturismo restaurant. This is an Italian certification that the restaurant is serving local produced products in traditional style.
